Four years ago on December 5th (Mommy is behind on blogging, AGAIN), the Lord blessed us with our first child. Elise Joann Jackson was so beautiful, we almost couldn't believe our good fortune. Here she was at 1 week old.
Flash forward, and our blessings have just multiplied. Look at that cheese face, and how big she looks sitting in that movie seat! She's so tall, her head almost reaches the top of the chair! She has such a wonderful personality, always keeps us laughing, and is so stinkin' smart.
We asked Elise if she wanted a birthday party with her friends, but instead she wanted to go to Silver Dollar City. At the last minute, she changed her mind again, and decided she wanted to go see Rise of the Guardians. We treated her to pizza first, then we went to the movie.
Every birthday girl still deserves a big celebration, though, so we had the Stevens/Lippys over after church the Sunday before her birthday and made cake. She picked out the cake, sprinkles, and candle. She also insisted on helping me make her own birthday cake! Finally, it was a very big deal to her that for her birthday lunch she have a balloon. Did you know that NO WHERE in Marshfield blows up balloons on Sundays? So I let her get a balloon while we were in Springfield Saturday evening. She still has it!
Four years have flown by in the blink of the eye. We're incredibly thankful to have Miss Elise to brighten our days, entertain us constantly, and randomly tell us she loves us (which happens often and always melts our heart). Happy Birthday, Monkey!
